International Board of Governors

The WCA  International Board of Governors consists of doctors of chiropractic chosen for their political activism and dedication to establishing chiropractic as a highly respected and accepted form of wellness care. The majority of the doctors are practicing chiropractors and represent numerous nations around the world.

Together, using the best principles of democratic and consensus process, these doctors help formulate the WCA's political policies and vote on all decisions relating to the WCA and its activities.

Board members periodically participate in global conferences to discuss strategies and develop programs that will further educate and inform governments, health ministers, and public officials about the highest level of chiropractic standards of care based on the CCP Guidelines. This includes educating them about the dangers of adopting medically oriented educational standards which include full body diagnosis or treatment of disease.

Because the board is field doctor-driven, they are motivated by their love for the art, science and philosophy of chiropractic rather than by intra-professional political agendas.

The issues and problems dealt with by the Board of Governors are many and varied, including resisting continued efforts by the medical and pharmaceutical industries to eliminate non-allopathic health care approaches and impose a medical monopoly on the world. They will fight, with every weapon in the WCA arsenal, elements within the profession itself that continue their attempts to re-define chiropractic into a medical modality, corrupting its philosophical basis.

The Board also maintains a strong global perspective, encouraging greater ties between chiropractic in the United States and the growing community of chiropractic practitioners and patients around the world. This is particularly important since the WCA is recognized as an NGO associated with the United Nations' Department of Public Information.

Through its Board of Governors, the WCA is able to exert much stronger and more positive global influence and protect and preserve the traditional branch of our profession wherever it can flourish.

Unlike other organizations which claim to have global authority over chiropractic, the WCA's sole goal is to promote and protect subluxation-based chiropractic and derives its "authority" from the wishes of the field chiropractors it represents.
