Using the WCA Advocacy Council when defending against
malpractice cases or board complaints
The purpose of the WCA Chiropractic Advocacy Council is to provide an
easy method to access existing information and documents on a wide
variety of chiropractic issues. This information can be used in
defending yourself against malpractice lawsuits or board complaints, or
to provide background and supportive material for public and patient
relations efforts.
The WCA, on the recommendation of the Council, will also consider
developing position papers, issuing press releases, lobbying for
legislation or taking other actions concerning issues relevant to cases
involving field doctors.
However, neither the WCA nor the Council can become involved in
individual malpractice lawsuits or board complaints, and cannot provide
legal advise or assistance in these cases.
Should you need additional aid, Dr. Matthew McCoy is available for
private consultation to:
 | Compile background or evidentiary material from a
wide variety of sources, including scientific papers and guideline
documents
|
 | Prepare complete and documented information
packages for use by attorneys to help them properly and completely
defend their clients against unjust malpractice lawsuits or board
complaints. Such material can be critical in the success of any
defense.
|
 | Testify in court or before boards on all issues
covered by the Council. |
Please note that while all information provided by the
WCA Chiropractic Advocacy Council is available free of charge to all
doctors of chiropractic, Dr. McCoy’s services must be contracted
separately. Fees are set by Dr. McCoy and should be discussed in advance
with him directly.
