WCA creates legislative internship program for chiropractic
students
CHANDLER, Ariz. (January 4, 2001)
-- The World Chiropractic Alliance (WCA) announced today the
creation of a WCA internship program designed to match
chiropractic college students with Congressional offices where
they can work.
According to WCA President Dr. Terry A. Rondberg, "This
program is designed to give future members of the chiropractic
profession firsthand experience working with congress and the
administration. It is very important that these students have
knowledge about and insight into the public policy process as it
affects their profession and the future of chiropractic."
In the past, a general lack of understanding about chiropractic
has created confusion, particularly among legislators who
mistakenly think that chiropractic is a form of medical care.
"Both the students and members of congress have a great deal
to learn from this exchange about the true nature of the
profession as envisioned by its founder," Dr. Rondberg noted.
The WCA’s Washington office will coordinate the internship
program.
The World Chiropractic Alliance is an international
organization representing doctors of chiropractic and promoting
the traditional, drug-free and non-invasive form of chiropractic
as a means to correct vertebral subluxations which cause nerve
interference. The WCA is an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization)
associated with the United Nations Department of Public
Information and publisher of the peer-reviewed chiropractic
research journal, "Journal of Vertebral Subluxation
Research." For more information, contact the WCA at
