WCA endorses innovative ‘QuadWheel’ luggage

Technology could help reduce back strain, prevent subluxations

The World Chiropractic Alliance (WCA) has agreed to endorse Atlantic Luggage’s QuadWheel technology, after testing the product and finding it could help reduce common back and neck strain associated with carrying or pulling heavy luggage.

One independent research study surveying business travelers showed that two out of five experienced neck, back and shoulder pain due to physical exertion while traveling. Another report noted that four out of five Americans will experience back pain at some point in their lives. For air travelers, longer lines, tighter schedules and luggage restrictions are making travel even more grueling.

“Traditional luggage -- even two-wheel type -- can put stress on the back, neck and shoulders, leading to vertebral subluxations,” said Dr. Terry A. Rondberg, WCA president. “QuadWheel’s unique design relieves luggage-related strain, and allows travelers to maintain proper posture. The World Chiropractic Alliance enthusiastically endorses Atlantic’s QuadWheel technology and recommends it for all travelers interested in safeguarding their health.”

The endorsement statement provided by the WCA for Atlantic Luggage's use explains what subluxations are and how they affect health.

Unlike other four-wheeled luggage products, the engineering behind QuadWheel technology converts a two-wheeled case into a sturdy, four-wheeled upright. With a touch of a button, the two-wheeled case instantly deploys two additional wheels and locks to offer a 53-degree, four-point stance for maximum stability, and uncompromising mobility. When not in use, the additional two wheels easily lock into place for use as a two-wheeled upright. When fully-loaded, QuadWheel can support multiple bags and still glide easily -- thanks to sleek 360-degree caster wheels. No other luggage product offers these features.

“QuadWheel technology is designed to meet busier, safer and more complex travel demands,” said Brian Miller, vice president of Sales and Marketing. “Business travelers want sturdier cases that won’t tip over, families need help managing multiple travel pieces, and baby boomers are calling for cases with better mobility. QuadWheel is the answer to all these requests and more.”

QuadWheel technology is found on Atlantic’s newest lines of upright cases available at all major luggage retailers and department stores. For more information on QuadWheel technology and Atlantic’s luggage collections, visit www.atlanticluggage.com.

Atlantic Luggage has been providing business and leisure travelers with quality, innovative luggage products for more than 85 years. With a vast array of soft and hard-sided luggage, including computer-friendly pieces, Atlantic Luggage is a market leader in affordable travel products and one of the largest brands in department stores in North America. Founded in 1919, it is a wholly owned subsidiary of Airway Industries, Inc.

“We’re proud to be partnered with Atlantic Luggage and to promote the use of their health-enhancing product," Dr. Rondberg added. “We urge all DCs to recommend the QuadWheel to their patients.”
