WCA blasts ‘Today’ show bias

A recent “health” news segment on the Today show, posted on the WNBC website (http://www.wnbc.com/drdavidmarks/2505797/detail.html) contained a blatantly anti-chiropractic bias. The story focuses on so-called “groundbreaking” research indicating the effectiveness of spinal manipulation on otitis media.

Although The Chiropractic Journal and the WCA Health Watch has been writing about chiropractic adjustments for ear infections since the early 1990’s, the report chose to ignore all evidence about the effectiveness of chiropractic and instead claim that osteopaths are “gentler” than chiropractors and that parents should go to an osteopath for manipulation.

The World Chiropractic Alliance immediately contacted WNBC and voiced its strong objections to this inaccurate and deliberately misleading piece of “journalism.”
