Chiropractic Associations
Which Have Rejected the Mercy Guidelines
In addition to the World Chiropractic Alliance, a few of the
many organizations which have rejected the document include:
The International Chiropractors Association voted to reject
the document. Noting that it "does not accept, endorse, approve, or
otherwise sanction the Document produced by the Mercy Center
Conference," the board referred to "serious concerns relative
to clinical goals and practice concepts of ICA members as well as other
members of the profession."
The Kentucky Association of Chiropractors voted to reject the
guidelines. The group noted that it "does not consider the Mercy
Guidelines' to be a compilation which can be considered a standard of
care'" and, "the document was not compiled by a sufficient
number of actively practicing doctors of chiropractic."
The Florida Chiropractic Society voted not to "accept,
endorse, approve or otherwise sanction" Mercy.
The Colorado Chiropractic Association to study the Mercy
Conference Guidelines has voted not to endorse the document.
The Georgia Board of Chiropractic Examiners issued a
resolution stating that it, "does not view the findings of the
Mercy Conference as a document which specifically dictates a Standard of
Care' or prescription for the day to day chiropractic practice."
The Oklahoma State Board of Chiropractic Examiners stated it
"does not accept, endorse, approve or otherwise sanction the
document produced by the Mercy Center Conference."
The Washington State Chiropractic Disciplinary Board stated
that Board members, "have expressed concern with several aspects of
the document."
The Washington State Chiropractic Association issued a
statement noting that it "does not endorse the Mercy Conference as
the practice guidelines for chiropractic in Washington State."
The Arizona Chiropractic Council rejected the Mercy document,
stating that it did not reflect the realities of clinical concerns faced
by D.C.s today.
The Nevada Chiropractic Association elected not to approve
endorsement of the Mercy Guidelines in whole or in part.
The Congress of Chiropractic State Associations the group
which initially commissioned the Mercy Conference has not endorsed it.
The Connecticut Chiropractic Council The Board of Directors
has unanimously voted to reject the Mercy Conference Document. The Board
does not accept, endorse, approve, or otherwise sanction the Document
produced by the Mercy Center Conference.
The Arkansas State Board of Chiropractic Examiners cannot
accept, endorse or otherwise approve the Mercy Document. There are
serious concerns that must be addressed and corrected before it can be
accepted by the Arkansas State Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
The Mississippi Associated Chiropractors, Inc.-- The Board has
agreed unanimously, not to endorse the Mercy guidelines as reasonable
practice standards.
Arizona Association of Chiropractic has rejected not endorsed the
Mercy guidelines.
Kansas Chiropractic Association has rejected not endorsed the
Mercy guidelines.
Maryland Chiropractic Association has rejected not endorsed the
Mercy guidelines.
Chiropractic Society of Texas has rejected not endorsed the Mercy
guidelines.
Alaska Chiropractic Society has rejected not endorsed the Mercy
guidelines.
Minnesota Chiropractic Association has rejected not endorsed the
Mercy guidelines.
Alabama State Chiropractic Association has rejected not endorsed
the Mercy guidelines.
Pennsylvania ChiroFORUM has rejected not endorsed the Mercy
guidelines.
Massachusetts Chiropractic Society has rejected not endorsed the
Mercy guidelines.
New York Chiropractic Council has rejected not endorsed the Mercy
guidelines.
Chiropractic Federation of New York has rejected not endorsed the
Mercy guidelines.
Pennsylvania Academy of Chiropractic Physicians has rejected not
endorsed the Mercy guidelines.
Empire State Chiropractic Association has rejected not endorsed
the Mercy guidelines.
Michigan Chiropractic Council has rejected the Mercy guidelines.
In addition, a survey conducted by The Chiropractic Journal showed
that chiropractors around the country overwhelmingly rejected adoption
of the Mercy Guidelines.
