Members of the Oregon Doctors of Chiropractic (ODOC) have
expressed their displeasure at the increasingly medical environment at Western States
Chiropractic College (WSCC).
According to an announcement released by the group's Leadership Council, the
organization voted unanimously to voice its disapproval of the school's "Doctor of
Chiropractic Medicine" degree as well as the college's decision to allow its campus
to be used as a vaccine clinic.
The general membership also called for the WSCC Board of Trustees to ask for the
immediate resignation of Dr. William Dallas as president of the college.
"Dallas has been, and still is, a major embarrassment to the chiropractic
profession in Oregon as well as across the country," the group stressed. "ODOC
feels that nothing short of his demise as president of WSCC will offset the damage he had
done to the public's understanding of our noble profession."
The organization has asked members of the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) to
"take a serious look at this individual and decide if they wish to continue any
relationship with him" or have him represent them as their president.
"We believe that the CCE would be far better off without this person who has
created a firestorm in our profession," ODOC noted. "We are joined in this
endeavor by many renowned chiropractic leaders and educations from all sections of the
United States who applaud our stand. We know that this school will do much better in new
student enrollment with his permanent absence."
Unconfirmed reports from Oregon sources estimate that enrollment has dropped 50% at
WSCC since it has publicly embraced the medical model of health care.
ODOC officials also stated that none of their members would send a prospective student
to WSCC "as long as this anti-chiropractor holds any office within the college's
leadership."
