Washington clarifies CCP position

The Chiropractic Quality Assurance Commission accepted the Council on Chiropractic Practice Clinical Practice Guideline No. 1 at their meeting on March 11, 1999 as the basis for an Interpretive Statement regarding the Standard of Practice.

The Administrative Procedures Act, RCW 34.05.010 (8) defines an Interpretive Statement, "as a written expression of the opinion of the agency, entitled an interpretive statement by the agency head or its designee, as to the meaning of a statute or other provision of law, of a court decision, or of a agency order." The Commission has just begun the process of going through the document to draft the Interpretive Statement.

Washington State law governs The Scope of Practice. Any changes to Washington Administrative Code (WAC) will follow Regulatory Reform which includes input from the profession and public. Any changes to the WAC's will be sent directly to practitioners from the Commission via the Department of Health.
