CBS honors
Dr. David Weeks
This month, the Chiropractic Benefit Services' "Distinguished Service" award
has been granted to David W. Weeks, D.C.
Usually, chiropractors learn about CBS through their colleagues, or by news about it in
The Chiropractic Journal. For Dr. Weeks, the decision to switch to CBS was the
result of listening to the famed "On Purpose" tapes from the Chiropractic
Leadership Alliance.
"At the time I was covered by 'another' company that supported the Mercy
document," Weeks explained. "Well, ethically that did not feel right to me to be
paying monthly premiums to a company that didn't support my beliefs, and I certainly
didn't feel right about having them represent me."
Those feelings have been echoed by many doctors who have joined CBS since they realize
that is the only decision compatible with their commitment to the art, science and
philosophy of chiropractic as developed by B.J. Palmer.
"I feel better having CBS represent me, as it helps me be more congruent in
principle in more areas of my life," Weeks noted.
CBS is the only malpractice program which uses, as its underwriting criteria, the
Council on Chiropractic Practice guidelines. These are the only evidence-based
subluxation-oriented chiropractic guidelines.
CBS is also the only chiropractic malpractice program to reinvest its profits into
subluxation-based research and other vital efforts.
