Dr. Chris Kent receives
ChiroPediatric Lifetime Achievement Award
Dr. Chris Kent has become the third recipient of the Dr. Larry Webster
ChiroPediatric Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award was named after the late Larry Webster, D.C., known as the grandfather
of chiropractic pediatrics. He was a pioneer and a maverick who championed chiropractic
care for children and influenced thousands of chiropractors and millions of people around
the world with his expertise and caring ways.
The award was presented to Dr. Kent at the Kids Day America/International dinner
reception at the Chiropractic Pediatric "U" On-The-Road, Worldwide
ChiroPediatric Conference in New Jersey.
Accepting the award -- a sculpture of a torch flame flanked by two eagles on a
raised pedestal -- Kent told the hundreds of chiropractors in attendance that he was very
touched by the honor. He explained that he had been Webster's friend and has always been
passionate about chiropractic care for children.
Among Kent's many accomplishments are the "On Purpose" audiotapes
which give listeners an opportunity to hear his expertise and passion for a host of
children's issues from birth trauma and subluxation to vaccinations to dangerous drugs.
He is the co-founder, with Dr. Pat Gentempo, of the Chiropractic Leadership
Alliance (CLA), which has offices in America and Europe and has helped develop technology
such as the Insight Millennium Subluxation Station which allows chiropractors to detect
and document vertebral subluxation in children and adults.
Kent has also written hundreds of articles and research papers for numerous
chiropractic magazines and journals and has been a presented at national pediatric
conferences and certification programs.
On the global level, Kent serves as the World Chiropractic Alliance
representative to the United Nations Department of Public Information has was instrumental
in arranging a presentation on subluxation-based chiropractic at the 1999 NGO
(non-governmental agency) Conference in Seoul, Korea. He was named the WCA's
"Chiropractic Researcher of the Year" in 1994 and is a regular columnist for The
Chiropractic Journal.
He also serves on the ICA board of directors and received that organization's
"Researcher of the Year" award in 1991, as well as its "Chiropractor of the
