Strategies for success -- Part 2 of 3

by Dr. Tony Palermo

Last month, I shared with you the first three of 10 strategies for success:

bulletMaster your time
bulletChoose discipline
bulletPlant success seeds

I'm certain you're already enjoying the benefits of these strategies so, let's continue with the next three.

Strategy four: Go "one to many"

This is one of my favorite and most profitable strategies. Leverage your time by broadcasting your message to as wide an audience as possible.

It's essential that you look for redundancies in your systems and procedures. If you find yourself saying the same thing over and over then you are wasting precious time and money in that model.

A few examples of "one to many" procedures in my practice:

bulletHealth care demonstrations
bulletGroup 'Report of Findings'
bulletCommon questions report
bullet"Welcome to My Practice" audiotape
bullet"Chiropractic and Great Health" audiotape

Each of these affords me the opportunity to share vital information with my practice members while saving me the time of repeating the message face to face and one on one.

ACTION STEP:

bulletReview all of your essential messages
bulletDiscover which messages you are repeating one on one and face to face
bulletConsider how you can disseminate this information from one to many
bulletLearn about available technologies that allow you to broadcast your message efficiently and effectively

Strategy five: Leverage your successes

Imagine you're standing by a lake. Your challenge is to get across the lake as quickly as possible. What are your options? You can float, swim, paddle or take a motorboat.

Obviously, you'd choose the motorboat. Business is exactly the same way. There are procedures and systems in your office that are already effectively attracting new practice members.

The key to leveraging your success is to identify which one or two procedures are your most effective to date. Then, once identified, you want to attach the most powerful engine you can find onto that procedure and propel it to the other side!

For example, perhaps your single greatest attraction system is your health care demonstration. How can you take this system from floating to motoring?

You can audiotape your next class. Then offer the tape to people you meet. Take it to the next step and offer one copy to every practice member and ask him or her to share it with a friend or loved one.

Take it another step and place an offer in your advertisements giving everyone in your community the opportunity to receive your tape as a gift.

Go one step further and inquire at your local radio station (AM is most effective) what it would cost to broadcast that one hour lecture weekly so that you can also advertise your "Strategies for Healthy Living" broadcast.

Congratulations! You have now leveraged your success from one to many and created a method to reach a wider audience.

ACTION STEP:

bulletIdentify the top two attraction systems in your office
bulletDecide on the ways you can take these two systems and leverage them to your highest and most noble abilities

Strategy six: Live with enthusiasm!

If you don't have a fire burning within to share your art, science and philosophy your practice will forever be a struggle.

People are attracted to enthusiasm. There's a significant distinction between enthusiasm and hype. People can sense BS like a horse can sense fear. Hype and false praise are transparent.

Genuine enthusiasm for your service is infectious. People want to be around the person who squeezes all of the juice out of life. Like a moth to the flame, your community will be drawn to your love of life and your willingness to serve them.

I still recite a prayer I said on my very first day in practice. I put the key in the door, turn my eyes toward heaven and say, "You send 'em, I'll serve 'em!" Every day in practice is your very first day in practice.

I recently spoke with a struggling doctor. Within two minutes I could understand why his practice was suffering. He sounded lobotomized. Each word was labored. He whined when he spoke. I couldn't WAIT to get off of the phone with him. There was simply no life in his life!

Don't underestimate the power of enthusiasm.

ACTION STEP:

Charge, replenish and cherish your life as you spend time in the company of friends and loved ones this Holiday Season.

Health and prosperity to you and yours in the New Year!
