Greenawalt forms foundation

As part of a 50th Anniversary give-back-to-chiropractic gift to the profession, Foot Levelers' President and CEO Kent S. Greenawalt has formed a foundation to spearhead a major nationwide public awareness campaign for chiropractic. Its purpose is to create a higher awareness level for the public about chiropractic.

Named the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (FCP), in addition to Dr. Greenawalt, the nonprofit group's advisory committee includes Drs. Carl S. Cleveland III, Peter Ferguson, Jerilyn Kaibel, Louis Sportelli, and Terry R. Yochum.

The exciting and educational campaign will target consumer magazines, newspapers, and wire services with a goal of getting at least 24 national exposures. "There is a void in today's media coverage of chiropractic, and we plan to fill it," says Greenawalt. "Only 1 in 10 Americans visit a chiropractor, and we want the other nine to become patients.

"Chiropractic is health care's best kept secret," he states. "People need to know how crucial chiropractic care can be to maintaining an active, healthy lifestyle. We want to help chiropractic move forward and we are putting a substantial amount of funding into this effort to make it happen," he adds.

Greenawalt explains the reverse gift to the Chiropractic profession: "We are successful today because of chiropractors supporting Foot Levelers and, as always, Foot Levelers is going to do all we can to support chiropractic. Our goal in launching this campaign is to do our own small part to advance the chiropractic profession and help more people benefit from receiving chiropractic care."
