Kentuckiana Children's Center will hold its first annual conference
Feb. 16-17, 2002 at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville, KY. The event will
feature Drs. Eric Plasker and Dan Murphy. Continuing education credits
will be available.
The purpose of the conference will be to "pay tribute and to
continue the challenge of providing chiropractic services to
children," according to the Center.
Kentuckiana was founded by Dr. Loraine M. Golden in 1957 and provides
chiropractic and concurrent health care services for children with special
needs, regardless of the family's ability to pay. In addition, the Center
is involved with education and research.
Dr. Murphy will provide instruction on the basics of the innate and
adaptive immune system responses, the basic differences between the IgG
and IgE adaptive immune response, and the factors (innate and clinical)
that influence the immune system maturation towards the IgG v. IgE
response.
He will also explore the issue of neurological innervation to the
immune organs and the relationship between the innervation to the immune
organs and the function of joint mechanoreceptors (subluxation complex and
chiropractic adjustment) and the cerebellum.
Dr. Plasker will conduct a presentation on the science of lifetime
family chiropractic care, including health care trends and their
chiropractic implications. In addition, he will talk about building
awareness between aging baby boomers, their parents, children,
grandchildren and their need for holistic care.
An open house tour of Kentuckiana Children's Center will be offered on
Saturday from 7:30-9:00 p.m.
Advance registration is $299. At the door registration is $329;
students with i.d., $99; an office "team" of doctor, staff and
