Excitement mounting for Parker's Las Vegas seminar

One look at the schedule and it's obvious. Chiropractic has never witnessed an event like the upcoming Parker Seminar, slated for January 30-February 2 in Las Vegas. With just a short time to go, the buzz around the profession is reaching a crescendo.

"You won't believe what you'll experience in 2003," has become more than just the seminar's slogan. It's the rallying cry for thousands of doctors who plan to attend and are already getting revved up.

Parker Seminars has managed to round up more than 100 special presenters and celebrities, including some of the most influential health care speakers in the country, plus a literal "who's who" of chiropractic. And, to make sure spirits never droop, Hollywood and Las Vegas performers will inject their unique brand of entertainment and excitement into the proceedings.

For doctors, the incredible lineup (still being confirmed at press time) will mean a full agenda of motivational, inspirational and instructional presentations.

"I think it's safe to say that this is one event that people will remember -- and talk about -- for years to come," said Parker College President Fabrizio Mancini, D.C. "No one is going to want to miss it!"

A few of the highlights include:

*** An overview of the best chiropractic techniques, presented by many of the actual originators, developers, and official technique teachers. The most practical and complete instructions on techniques by the experts who know them best.

*** Presentation of the famed Parker Principals, developed by Dr. James W. Parker himself. These are the guiding principles that have formed the foundation for countless chiropractors, bringing meaning and purpose to their lives and practices.

*** An entire day (Friday) packed with more than 50 presenters, the complete Parker Program, outstanding philosophy speakers, procedures to run your practice more efficiently, and classes that will help you develop clinical and technical excellence.

*** On Saturday, the Parker Super Success Extravaganza, a one-of-a-kind, full-day immersion into chiropractic success principles that will send you home energized, renewed and empowered! You'll learn how to have a prosperous, successful and fulfilling practice -- the kind you've always dreamed of -- and the life you've always wanted.

*** A special "I Care" program where C.A.s and other chiropractic office staff members can get together and share ideas and experiences.

*** The popular "Kids Club" for children between 5 and 10 years of age. Youngsters are treated to a full schedule of special entertainment and inter-active activities, where they learn about the chiropractic lifestyle while having lots of fun.

*** Also in the plans for Sunday is a post-seminar chiropractic golf tournament on one of the most popular and beautiful PGA courses in the state! More details to come.

Plus, everyone will have plenty of free time to enjoy all the fun and excitement that only Las Vegas offers -- from dazzling stage shows to world-class casinos and restaurants.

Parker Seminars will celebrate the "official premiere" of "Chicken Soup For The Chiropractic Soul," produced by Parker College of Chiropractic in partnership with best-selling authors Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen. The book contains stories about the miracle of chiropractic that will make readers laugh, cry and get goosebumps. It's destined to become one of the most widely distributed chiropractic books ever written!

Quick to remind doctors that the Parker Seminar's January 2003 event isn't just about listening to presenters, Dr. Mancini emphasized, "This is about the chiropractors themselves. It's about all of us coming together for an incredible sharing experience, to remind ourselves what's really important in our world, and our profession. That's what this event is really about -- friends, colleagues and family all celebrating chiropractic."

At Parker Seminars, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, there is much to applaud. When the first seminar was held on December 13, 1951, only seven D.C.s showed up. More than five decades later, Parker Seminars have literally changed the lives of many thousands of D.C.s around the globe.

Dr. James Parker, who died in 1997 after dedicating most of his life to the chiropractic profession and the college bearing his name, had a vision of what these seminars could mean to chiropractors. He wanted them to be the focal point of the chiropractic profession, a "safe harbor" where doctors could set aside their disputes and disagreements and feel the power of community.

When Dr. Mancini took the reins from Dr. Parker, becoming the fifth president of the college in 2000, he inherited not just the school, but the vision of Parker Seminars as the number one gathering of chiropractors in the world.

It's a vision he's worked hard to fulfill. Despite the turmoil caused by national tragedy and economic decline, Parker Seminars have continued to draw huge crowds. In 2002, more than 6,500 D.C.s, staff, families and exhibitors attended the Las Vegas event -- and another 1,500 people viewed the webcast online. They expect an even bigger turnout in 2003, hoping to top the 8,000 mark.

All the excitement will take place at the Las Vegas Hilton, which was one of the few hotels able to accommodate the huge turnout expected. Offering more than 3,000 rooms and suites with a wide array of amenities, it will make the perfect "home" for the event -- particularly since Parker Seminars has negotiated a special room rate of just $95 per night. (To make hotel reservations, call 888-732-7117). The hotel offers a luxury spa (complete with steam and sauna rooms, and fitness equipment), heated pools and spas, a rooftop tennis court, an outdoor jogging track, and plenty of shops.

Early bird registration to the Las Vegas Parker Seminar is $195 for doctors, $115 for C.A.s and other guests, and $49.95 for students. To register, call (888) 727-5338 or visit www.parkerseminars.com to register online.
