WCA launches Council on Family Practice

The World Chiropractic Alliance (WCA) has formed a Council on Family Practice (CFP), which will:

***  Educate and empower families to utilize chiropractic care throughout their lifetime to achieve wellness.

***  Stand for chiropractic excellence in family practice.

***  Define practice parameters as they relate to family chiropractic care.

***  Promote, position, and prepare the chiropractic profession for global family health care leadership.

To establish the CFP, the WCA turned to Eric Plasker, D.C., founder and CEO of The Family Practice. Dr. Plasker began the process of developing guidelines for the Council, which he said will "serve as a foundation for chiropractors being able to deliver family health care to people all over the world."

Plasker was a natural selection to head the CFP, since he built and ran two successful family practices and is the author of "The Family Practice Systems Library." He will serve the Council in an advisory capacity.

"It is an honor for me to help the World Chiropractic Alliance promote the concept of family practice," he noted. "It is time for chiropractors to become the leaders in family health care in communities around the world. This Council will help practicing D.C.s and the chiropractic profession to reach this goal."

Serving as the first CFP President will be Gary Brodeur, D.C., of Rhode Island. Dr. Brodeur runs a successful family practice and is committed to chiropractors becoming the family doctors in communities worldwide.

"I am honored to serve the WCA as the first president of the Council on Family Practice. The Council will play an important role within the profession by promoting chiropractic for family care during every stage of growth and development throughout life," explained Brodeur.

The newly appointed president applauded the WCA's commitment to finance and support the CFP. "It's exciting to be able to have an immediate global impact with the Council, thanks to the support of the WCA," he commented.

Present for the July inaugural meeting for development of the Council were: Drs. Eric Plasker, Cheryl Langley, Gary Brodeur, Bart Rzepa, Russ Pavkov, Brad Walker, Kevin Hay, Rob Truax, Chris Thornell, Scott Stachelek, Craig Pruitt, Carmelo Caratozzolo, Clyde Zerba and Karen Maxwell, Jonna Palmer, and Jennifer Styers. WCA President Terry A. Rondberg, D.C., and Drs. Bill Bazin and Ciro Rustici were present via teleconference.
