D.C. brings chiropractic to Costa Rica's Chira Island

On Nov. 9, 2002, James A. Kinnard, D.C. joined allopathic doctors on a Christian medical mission to the Chira Indians of Costa Rica. In three days, Dr. Kinnard adjusted 469 people, from a baby to an 81-year old woman who was carried in on a mattress.

Most medical staff members were amazed with chiropractic's benefits, Kinnard reported. He was pleased at the lack of advertising and competition surrounding the mission, that everyone was there to serve. And, he was grateful for the Bio Freeze packets that had been donated to him for the mission by LSI International.

Even local officials from Costa Rica and the island wanted to receive chiropractic care because they got so much relief from pain and "just felt better all over."

Kinnard was pleased to have been part of an effort that was so rewarding to all who gave of their time and talents. It was particularly meaningful, he said, that the mission was carried out during a season known for giving.
