June 2003
Cleveland pediatric club to hold children's expo
On
June 21, 2003,
the Cleveland Chiropractic College Pediatric Club will present the
Children's Health and Wellness Expo for the greater
Los Angeles
area. The event will run from 9:30 a.m. to
4:00 p.m.
on the
Cleveland Chiropractic College campus.
According to Rev. Matthew Hertert, the club's vice president, the purpose of
the expo is to "provide a venue for providers of children's health and
wellness services to inform and educate area families in a common location."
Rev. Hertert noted: "We are living in a time when childhood illnesses are
skyrocketing and the use of prescription drugs and surgeries is at an
all‑time high. Because parents are increasingly frustrated and unhappy with
the results of these failing methods, research indicates that parents are
rapidly shifting their focus away from drugs and surgery for their children
toward seeking more healthy solutions and answers for their children's
health‑related problems. These same parents are seeking leadership for their
children's health and wellness care."
The Expo will be publicized to upwards of 10,000 Los Angelinos via major
newspapers, radio and television PSAs, the Los Angeles Unified School
District,
and flyers in English, Spanish, Korean and Armenian distributed to local
communities.
The club expects more than 50 vendors, including midwives, pediatric
dentists, children's yoga instructors, Boys and Girl's Clubs and health food
companies who will be promoting and supporting the event with their
presence, education and inspiration.
The club is eager to have wellness‑oriented D.C.s participate in the Expo.
