Patient ed books reach millions
Each year, doctors of
chiropractic purchase millions of dollars worth of patient education
brochures and pamphlets. Many of these publications are exceedingly well
written, contain helpful information, and look great. Yet, most end up in
the garbage can or recycling bucket within a week's time.
On an average day, an
individual can end up accumulating a small stack of brochures, flyers,
information sheets, newsletters and booklets. They come in the mail, are
picked up in the waiting room, handed to them in front of the supermarket,
and stuck under the windshield wiper of their car in the parking lot. It's
no wonder they toss them with (at best) a cursory glance.
Give that same person a
"real" book and they'll read it, keep it, and pass it on. There's a
permanence about books that no other written format has, and a mystique you
just don't get from a pamphlet. After all, the Beatles didn't sing "I want
to be a pamphlet writer" but a "paperback writer!")
That's part of the
reason that "Chiropractic First," and "Chiropractic Works!" are the most
successful patient education materials ever published. Instead of a
"disposable" pamphlet, these two volumes are full‑fledged books ‑‑ 162 pages
each in standard paperback book binding. They're available in book stores
and through Amazon.com, and normally sell at these retail outlets for $12.95
each.
Yet, they're available
to doctors of chiropractic for distribution to patients for as low as $1.97
each (when you purchase 100 copies).
So far, close to 1.5
million copies have been sold and distributed. The result has been that
millions of people now understand about the power of chiropractic, and how
it can help them lead healthier, happier, subluxation‑free lives. And that's
meant larger, more successful practices for the doctors who gave the books
out.
"Our first order of 100
'Chiropractic First' books has already produced over 50 new patients for our
office," explained Richard DeLisle, D.C.
Jeffrey Swella, D.C.,
had similar results. "Chiropractic First is truly a must read for new
patient education. Within one week of giving this book to patients and new
patients, my practice has increased literally 50% and my passion for
chiropractic has increased 10 fold," he reported
"Chiropractic First,"
by Dr. Terry A. Rondberg, president of the World Chiropractic Alliance and
publisher of The Chiropractic Journal, explains in lay terms how
chiropractic uses the body's own healing power to: optimize health and
wellness naturally; avoid unnecessary surgery and dangerous drugs; provide
safe, natural childbirth and healthy babies; and extend and improve life.
Chapters cover research
and education, chiropractic for children and the elderly, the Wilk case, and
much more. It's an ideal introduction to chiropractic that excites readers
and convinces them that chiropractic is an effective means of reaching
higher levels of health.
"Chiropractic Works!"
by Timothy J. Feuling, president of Chiropractic Benefit Services,
spotlights more than 200 celebrities, entertainers, and professional and
Olympic athletes who have used chiropractic, proving to readers that
chiropractic is a totally accepted and often preferred method of health
care.
"Chiropractic Works!"
‑‑ now boasting a new cover design ‑‑ also contains documented case
histories and personal stories from people all over America who have
benefitted from chiropractic. Readers can check the index, look up a
specific health problem, and find hundred of testimonials written by actual
patients.
"Feuling's book has
been an integral part of our offices achieving over 90 new patients a
month," says Michael P. Grego, D.C. "(It) has helped us achieve this number
of new patients for over six months now. In addition to helping us increase
our number of new patients ("Chiropractic Works!") has helped to increase
our retention rate dramatically."
Scott Marsh, D.C., adds
that the book is, "without a doubt, the single best patient
education/referral tool we have found in 17 years. I especially like the
index which allows the patient to look up case studies of results with
various conditions."
The books have won
praise from chiropractic leaders as well as patients.
Mark Victor Hansen,
co‑author of the famed "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series, said,
"'Chiropractic First' teaches why everyone needs, wants and ultimately loves
chiropractic. Totally recommended."
To make the books even
more valuable as patient education and practice growth tools, doctors can
obtain a special report with their order, explaining five simple steps for
using the books to increase referrals and retention.
