Logan students forced to lie?
What other students said
"There was no
misdirection or trickery involved in the evening. As a member of the student
ICA, I was involved in organizing the evening to have Dr. Rondberg come and
speak to a group of students about chiropractic philosophy and politics. We
were all well informed throughout the evening about the government, politics
and insurance and how it is all related to chiropractic.
"At the end of the
presentation many students chose voluntarily to join the WCA organization
because they respected the organization's viewpoints. Many students chose
not to join. The pictures at the end of the evening were also voluntary.
Most of the people in the pictures are students at Logan and they chose to
become members of the WCA. Dr. Terry Rondberg was honest and up front at all
times throughout the evening. This was a time where students and doctors
from various backgrounds came together and voiced their views of our
profession. It was very enjoyable and we plan on doing it again."

"It is humorous that
the people in the picture say they have been tricked. These people are Logan
student leaders and are some of the most intelligent students on campus.
Furthermore, there were several people who decided not to join the WCA and
not be in the picture. This WCA meeting was conducted like any meeting by
other organizations, ACA, ICA, etc. After the speaker gives the lecture he
gives a call to action to join their organization. Look in the picture and
see all the smiling faces and that is what I will remember about the
meeting, a great time with other students of different philosophies coming
together on the common ground of chiropractic. It is unfortunate that Logan
censors these types of activities on their campus." ‑‑

"It really concerns me
that there is a misunderstanding of what went on and the purpose of the WCA
meeting where we elected Dave Sheitleman and the SWCA president. I went to
the meeting knowing full well what we were going to discuss and no one was
pressured to do anything they didn't feel comfortable doing. We all voted
for Dave to be the president and from what I can remember everyone there
voted. As far as the picture,e no one was forced to be in the picture and
you stated before we took it that you were going to put it in The
Chiropractic Journal. I am very embarrassed that my fellow students who
had a problem with the meeting didn't leave when they knew what was going on
and find it necessary to say something and plead ignorance after the fact.
I don't like to judge people, but I think they are lying about what happened
that night. ‑‑ Kevin Noffsinger, D.C.
