Now that's a subluxation!

To increase public awareness of chiropractic on Chiropractic's 100th anniversary in 1995, Ari Diskin, DC, commissioned the construction of the world's largest reproduction of human vertebrae depicting a subluxation, which is on display outside the front of his Centre in Victoria Parade, Fitzroy, Australia.

The two bones feature flashing lights that demonstrate health nerve impulses on one side and an irritated nerve on the other side. This model is approximately 15,000 times larger than life. The structure of two bones measures approximately 1.5 meters (nearly 5 feet) wide by 1.5 meters deep and stands 1.5 meters high on top of a stand that supports the one‑ton structure made of solid plaster and fiberglass.

The sculpture incorporates a motion‑activated voice message about its purpose and chiropractic for passersby.

Dr. Diskin, who serves on the World Chiropractic Alliance International Board of Governors, is a second‑generation chiropractor, whose father and brother are also doctors of chiropractic. He was born and raised in Melbourne, and then traveled extensively, living more than 12 years overseas and completing his education in the United States.
