Real heroes are real truth tellers
by Dr. Ben Lerner with Dr. Greg Loman
The world is yearning
for heroes. People are dying, literally, for someone to step up to the plate
and fulfill this badly needed role. As a father of two young children, it's
come to my attention lately that it's my duty to become their hero. I
see it in their eyes that they're searching for a role model to lead them
into the arena of life.
It's my duty (and
privilege) to show them right from wrong. If I do my appointed job, they'll
relate to everyone with love, honor and humility. My children will learn how
to treat people properly, have discipline and become committed, loving,
productive people in society (and, hopefully, chiropractors).
When I was a child, one
of my heroes was my baseball coach. He not only taught me how to become a
very competitive and competent pitcher, he showed me how to be a gentleman,
on and off the field. My coach showed me how to win and lose
with dignity. This man was my hero in baseball and life and he was a hero
for thousand of others.
In a recent article
called, "Death By Medicine," by the Life Extension Foundation (www.lef.org),
the medical doctors, naturopath, and Ph.D who wrote it have now proven that
medicine has risen from its #3 ranking to become the #1 killer in the United
States. As a result of our health care system and our thinking, our planet
is the sickest it's ever been. We need heroes, like the medical doctors
willing to write this article, now more than ever. Heroes with the answer to
living a more abundant life and living it freer from sickness and disease.
Over the years, many
DCs have come to our offices wondering how we see more than 1,000 visits per
week, many not believing that it's happening. The number one question we get
is how do you get so many new patients? The answer is simple: tell the
truth. Tell the real truth about chiropractic, about how medicine fails, and
why people need to completely change the way they think about health.
If you want 100 new
patients per month, you need to set in place a very specific education
process in your office and patients will bring in the community. The first
three visits in a chiropractic office are the most important. If not done
correctly, patients won't stay, they won't bring their families, and they
will not refer. There are no gimmicks to creating a 100 new patient month.
With proper planning and realizing that you need to become a champion of the
people, a hero who changes lives, it will simply start to happen.
Become your patients'
hero for a lifetime by telling them the truth about chiropractic.
