Book on neck pain to be released
A soon‑to‑be‑published
book by Peter Fernandez, DC, tackles a topic that affects millions of people
throughout the world: neck pain. In what he says is "destined to be the most
authoritative book in chiropractic history on self‑care of the neck," he
provides detailed and comprehensive self‑care advice from hundreds of
doctors of chiropractic who specialize in the cervical spine.
The book, "Neck Pain,
Neck Pain ‑‑ You Don't Want It, You Don't Need It" will contain more than
200 professional illustrations and is written for both current and
prospective patients.
Dr. Fernandez has
structured the book to allow individual doctors to become "contributing
authors," thereby positioning themselves as "neck specialists" in their
communities. A "doctor locator" section in the book contains a listing, with
contact information, of all the contributing authors, making the volume a
source of referrals as well as of information.
The book also will
include descriptions of recommended neck health products, which doctors can
order through their offices. "Contributing authors will be able to easily
process these requests and earn income on the sale of these products with no
inventory, no advertising, no selling and no shipping hassles," Fernandez
explained.
Although the book is
not yet available for review, Terry A. Rondberg, DC, president of the World
Chiropractic Alliance, said he's confident it will make a significant and
positive impact on practice volume.
"I've had a
professional relationship with Dr. Fernandez for nearly two decades," he
noted. "I'm familiar with his ability to help doctors achieve their goals,
and I wouldn't hesitate to put his book on my 'book read' list, sight
unseen. And, I'm sure those DCs who sign up as contributing authors will
reap tremendous benefits from their involvement."
