Parker fills post
Dr. John Plotts has been named dean of enrollment
management at Parker College of Chiropractic. In this capacity, he will
oversee Parker's admissions and financial aid departments.
“Dr. Plotts comes to Parker College with vast knowledge
in this highly specialized area. We seek only the most qualified students
for admission into our Doctor of Chiropractic degree program,” said Dr. Neil
Stern, vice president for administration. “Under the astute leadership of
Dr. Plotts, Parker College will continue to identify and train quality
Doctors of Chiropractic.”
Plotts, explained Dr. Stern, was selected following an
exhaustive search. Under his leadership, “Parker College will seek to cap
its enrollment at 1,000 students.”
Prior to coming to Parker, Plotts served as director of
the Howard Center for Christian Studies at Park Cities Baptist Church,
Dallas. He began his career in higher education in 1992 as admissions
director at Dallas Baptist University (DBU). He also served DBU as dean of
the college of adult education, vice president for enrollment and
administrative affairs, and vice president for executive student
affairs.
Plotts has taught numerous classes at the university
level and published articles in professional education journals.
Additionally, he is a member of the Association for the Study of Higher
Education, National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, and the
National Association for College Admission Counseling.
The new dean holds a B.S. degree from Baptist Bible
College of Pennsylvania, Clark Summit; a Master of Theology degree from
Dallas Theological Seminary; and a Doctor of Education from the University
of North Texas, Denton.
