The marriage of science and philosophy...finally!

by Dr. Kevin Pallis and Dr. Ed Plentz

Science is finally catching up with the philosophy of chiropractic. For decades we have heard from non‑vitalistic chiropractors that if we would just drop our philosophy and stick to the mechanical adjustment then mainstream society and medical science would accept and embrace us. If only Dr. Joseph Flesia was alive to experience what he intuitively knew to be true for all of those years.

Enter the new thinkers of today, the "chaos" men and women. The vision of these people looking at the world is 180 degrees of difference to the dogma that most of us grew up with. Chaos theory and quantum physics now embrace our philosophy of life, no questions asked.

Life is necessarily triune, comprised of intelligence, energy and matter. The intelligence and energy give meaning, form and function to life. We call this intelligence Innate Intelligence. For centuries people have known that there is more to life than the physical dimension. In our culture, we steadfastly cling (like persons clinging to a sinking ship) to the notion that everything is in the physical dimension. Drugs and surgery are desperate measures that use force and do not take into consideration any other factors that influence health such as Innate Intelligence. In fact, mainstream medial science scoffs at the notion that there is any other way to address "health matters."

Enter vitalistic chiropractors, the modern day heroes. They don't "treat" anything. That doesn't mean that people with disease don't come to their offices, quite the contrary. They remove VSC from birth to death on a family basis to improve the expression of this Innate Intelligence. The result: healthier people, healthier families, healthier communities and then, a healthier world.

We are creating changes in mass consciousness through the introduction and the practical application of a brand new concept. For the first time in chiropractic we have the vision, the passion and the need in society to change the health consciousness of the world. The world is looking for leaders in this movement, not followers.

Many reading this will be asking themselves how is this accomplished? The answer is simple. We must expand our own consciousness and act locally and effect globally. Each person has a consciousness that's independent in itself as well as an influencing force on others. The consciousness is determined by the available amount of personal power and belief individual DCs have in chiropractic and themselves. Think of consciousness as a wavelength. Criminals have a very low frequency that attracts low wavelength people like themselves and repels high frequency wavelength people. Healthy people vibrate at a very high wavelength and attract people just like themselves as a magnet attracts metal. Think of positive, happy people in your life who everyone just seems to flock around.

No matter how good it is, whenever you introduce a new concept to society it will be rejected because it's unfamiliar, not because it's bad. Back in the late 1960s and early '70s working out was first introduced to the general population. It was laughed at and ridiculed by everybody who didn't work out. Jog? Why would you run somewhere when you could jump in your car and drive there? When you'd attempt to explain that it was good for your heart, people would ask, "Do you have a heart problem?" However, over time the participants influenced the non‑participants to the degree that now the out‑of‑ shape people automatically have a readily available excuse why they can't work out (my back, I'm allergic to my sweat, my doctor said, etc).

As with all new concepts, you must have education and communication skills in place that will allow patients to make decisions that are right for them and their families. When you empower people to take responsibility for themselves and their families, that's where you change mass consciousness. It's not about marketing and selling. You can't market a concept that's unknown. If you use financial leverage, insurance coverage, gimmicks, or giveaways to chase people into your office they won't stay because they didn't make the decision to participate, you forced it.

Attract people rather than chase after them by allowing them to hear the concept and have the opportunity to embrace it ‑‑ just like working out. In fact, when companies pay for employees to work out for free, they participate at a lower level than when they're self‑ motivated and financially responsible. When a patient is excited about the new concept, time, distance, money, and schedule problems seem to melt away.

The choice is yours. Embrace change and change the mass consciousness of the world or hang on to yesterday's paradigm and go down with a sinking ship.
