Dr. Gene Giggleman elected to AVCA post
Parker College dean to serve as president
Dr. Gene Giggleman,
since 2000 dean of academic affairs of Parker College of Chiropractic, was
recently elected president of the American Veterinary Chiropractic
Association (AVCA) cabinet. Dr.
Giggleman, a licensed and practicing veterinarian, will serve in this
capacity until the annual general meeting to be held in the fall of 2007.
The AVCA
is a professional membership association dedicated to promoting animal
chiropractic to professionals and the public and to serving as the
certifying agency for licensed doctors of chiropractic and licensed doctors
of veterinary medicine who have undergone animal chiropractic training.
Parker College offers
one of just three programs in the nation offering instruction in
chiropractic treatment for animals. The course, which Giggleman helped
design and implement, prepares successful program participants to sit for
the AVCA certification exam.
Giggleman, a licensed
veterinarian since 1981, first joined Parker in 1984 as dean of student
affairs and has taught courses in systemic anatomy and
pharmacology/toxicology. He received Bachelor of Science degrees in
Veterinary Science and in Biomedical Science, and holds a Doctor of
Veterinary Medicine from Texas
A& M University.
