Australian DC awarded double honor
Chiropractic's 111th
year held special meaning for Dr. Ari Diskin, as federal and state bodies of
the Chiropractors' Association of Australia in September presented him with
two prestigious "Outstanding Service & Contribution" awards at their annual
conferences in Melbourne. The awards follow numerous international honours
given to the Australian‑born, American‑trained Dr. Diskin over the years,
including Parker College's "Chiropractor of the Year" and "Alumni of the
Year" awards.
A second generation
chiropractor who has practiced in Melbourne since 1986, and a member of the
World Chiropractic Alliance International Board of Governors for many years,
he is now in his 21st year of practice.
Diskin has actively
given back to the chiropractic profession and his community for most of the
past two decades, serving in Victoria as president, vice president,
executive board member, public education spokesperson and media
representative and speaker.
He is a long time and
ongoing supporter of local, national and international charities, having
raised thousands of dollars for organizations including the Salvation Army,
Australian Spinal Research Foundation, environmental organizations, and Very
Special Kids.
Upon receiving
recognition from his national and local chiropractic colleagues, Diskin
said, "It is lovely and an honour to be recognised by my peers, that my
greatest joy is helping the thousands of people from the local community
(and those who travel from interstate and overseas to see us), with their
health challenges and objectives, from chronic illness to gaining the edge
in competitive sport. Also taking care of families over a number of
generations, and assisting them to maximise their health and lives is
fantastic!"
He went on say, "I urge
everyone to get involved in their community, profession, sporting club,
charity group or area that they are passionate about, as putting in and
giving back brings tremendous rewards."
