Research listing saves time
When a new patient
challenged with leukemia asked me for research on chiropractic and
immunity/wellness, I went to your site and printed of the "partial list" for
her. Thank you for saving me hours of searching!! I appreciate your
association and have always supported its mission from my student days to
now my 11th year in practice.

(We're glad the
research report helped you and your patient. The WCA website is filled with
valuable information, including research, position papers, Chiropractic
Advocacy newsletters, and much more. We urge all doctors to check out the
website at www.worldchiropracticalliance.org).

MDs are not saints
I am a registered nurse
responding to your September 2005 article, "Why can't we all just get
along?" by Dr. Ben Lerner.
I am outraged that
people in the medical profession can be so ignorant. I would like to set the
record straight that medical doctors do in fact stab each other in the back,
yell in front of colleagues and patients, and do turn each other in despite
what a hospital administrator said in the article. I have witnessed it as a
nurse for eight years.
So if two chiropractors
have an argument, their profession is stupid? That is ridiculous. People
argue, it happens in every profession, get over it. In fact, the department
I currently work in ‑‑ which is in a pediatric hospital ‑‑ has the most
back‑stabbing physician I have ever met and she is the department head on
top of it.
She in fact closes my
door just to gossip about the other physicians in our department or support
staff. It is like belonging to a dysfunctional family. Furthermore, I once
had a medical doctor tell me that this profession is the meanest to each
other, doctor‑to‑doctor, nurse‑to‑nurse, doctor‑to‑nurse, etc. Just last
week I witnessed a physician yelling at another in the hospital cafeteria in
front of staff and families!!
So do not be
disillusioned by the fact that the medical doctors never gossip, or argue or
back stab. They may just figure out ways to be more sneaky about it!! Also,
please don't criticize your profession by agreeing with that hospital
administrator. Unfortunately, many still believe the MD is God and guess
what? I am here to tell you that it couldn't be further from the truth. I
really respect your profession.
Sincerely,
SMS

(Thank you for these
important insights. Too often, chiropractors look at the medical profession
as a role model for ethical behavior because we don't get an insider's view.
It's enlightening to hear from someone within that profession who is willing
to expose its faults.)

Kids Day double booking upsets DC
I sent out an e‑mail a
few months ago about a problem I was having with Kids Day America because
two of us were booked for the same town.
Dr. Warner has
continued to refuse to refund my money even though I did not participate in
this event and brought this double booking matter to his attention in March.
He has lied about the
additional support he gave me, claiming to have called me every day to
address my concerns. He says that he has 10 years of satisfied customers
which I applaud, but then why not do the right thing to continue good faith
with the universe?
I believe the concept
of this event is wonderful and I give him credit for his vision. I however
do not believe I should be treated so disrespectfully when all I want is my
money back for an event I was promised exclusivity to, and one which I did
not participate in.
A number of doctors had
e-mailed me with similar experiences back in April and I would appreciate it
if you would take a few minutes to write me of your experience again. There
is power in numbers and I wish to let him know only that he needs to run his
events more professionally and treat members in his own profession with the
dignity we deserve.

(We understand your
frustration and while the Kids Day America program has many good points, we
feel the "exclusivity" concept is counterproductive. With the World
Chiropractic Alliance Children's Health Day International program, we
encourage doctors in the same community to work together to present a large
event, when possible. The WCA program is free to all WCA members (or $99 per
event for non‑members). For more information, go to
www.worldchiropracticalliance.org/children.)
