Revolution Seminars

by Dr. Michael Heskett

It's amazing how blessed we are to live in such a great nation and be able to provide chiropractic to a sick and suffering world. There has never been a better time to be a chiropractor. Patients are accepting the fact that God created them and He also heals them.

In the beginning years of chiropractic, we had to deter patients away from medicine and educate them on the benefits of chiropractic. Today, patients not only understand principled chiropractic, they are starving for it.

When reflecting personally on the past year, one word comes to mind: joy. Are we truly having fun in our office and is it a joy to adjust patients? Since I began coaching other chiropractors two years ago, I have found that many chiropractors are not happy in practice and some are even ready to give up.

Chiropractic is a gift from God. The biggest blessing I know of in being a chiropractor is adjusting a family with children and watching the body heal itself the way that God intended. Going in the office on Monday should never be work, but a privilege. It has been my personal experience when I get tired or frustrated in the office that it is because my focus is on myself instead of God.

If we fall into the trap of seeking happiness from things, then we will never find it. There's always a bigger house and a nicer car. These things may bring us temporary happiness but will never provide long lasting joy. Joy comes when you know God's purpose for your life and I have never questioned that God chose me to be a chiropractor.

Matthew 6:33 states that if we "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, that all these things shall be added unto you." So many times we try to control our lives, our visits, our circumstances, and be the captain of our ship. After crashing my ship time and time again almost three years ago, I decided to let God be my captain. Not only did my family life get better, but my practice exploded. I no longer feel pressure to control my family, my patients, and the people around me. By submitting to God, I know that He is working in my best interest and that brings me joy and peace like I've never known.

God has given me a vision to start a revolution in chiropractic. In order to be truly successful in chiropractic, there must be order in your life and that order is God, family and chiropractic. Two years ago, Revolution Seminars was born and has already made a lasting impact on many chiropractors. Revolution has expanded in 2006 and now offers Revolution PLUS, which is a 12 hour CE credit program for several states, including Tenn., Ga., NC, SC, Ky. and Ala.

Revolution teaches you how to implement biblical principles into your life and practice. If you are struggling in practice or you are looking to re‑ignite your passion for chiropractic, call (865) 712‑8600 for more information on our upcoming 2006 seminar dates.

I pray this year your New Year's resolution would be I Thess. 5:6‑7 ‑‑ "to be joyful always, pray continually and to give thanks in all circumstances..." All complaining is ultimately against God. Be thankful in 2006 for everything that God has blessed you with.
