Singer celebrates 25th anniversary

It's not surprising that David Singer, DC, is one of the most well‑known and popular leaders in the chiropractic community. After all, he's spent the last 25 years speaking nearly every week to different chiropractic audiences.

With some five million miles under his belt, he's brought his message to thousands of doctors around the world. The message is simple: anyone can succeed with improved communication skills.

His own communication skills are evident. His talks elicit uproarious laughter and thunderous applause as he regales audiences with tales from his own chiropractic experience.

He's saved a fellow airplane passenger suffering from a heart attack ... but also had a patient roll off his table! He met with Mother Teresa, but also accidentally left a patient asleep in his office. He's known as a consummate speaker, but passed out in front of his first large audience more than 30 years ago.

David Singer's a success, but like every doctor he talks with, he's made his share of mistakes and sometimes, he says, in his career, it seems as though anything that could go wrong... did.

But, Singer obviously didn't let those mistakes stop him. In the early 1970s, he began learning from his errors and developing the system of practice procedures that would later make him famous. The procedures ‑‑ based on properly and effectively explaining to people how chiropractic can help them ‑‑ enabled him to establish one of the fastest‑growing and largest new patient practices of the time.

An unqualified success, many weeks seeing more than 100 new patients ‑‑ and as many as 156 in a single week ‑‑ within a few years, Singer was winning awards from chiropractic organizations and local business groups.

He could have continued in private practice for a few years, and then retired comfortably to a villa on the Riviera. But for him, the secret to true success isn't something you hoard like gold bullion. It's something you share with your colleagues and your profession; something you pass on so others can start bringing the benefits of chiropractic to more and more new patients.

That's why, in 1981, he changed direction and started David Singer Enterprises, a consulting company whose mission is to help doctors achieve their goals in a fun, non‑stressful manner. Predictably, Singer entered into his new venture with all the enthusiasm and energy he had previously displayed in his practice and, once again, the results were spectacular.

The company twice was named one of INC. Magazine's "Top 100 Fastest‑Growing Companies." Singer himself won Chiropractic Economics' "Chiropractor of the Year" award for having the most impact on the economics of the chiropractic profession and received The Parker Centurion Award for his dedication to the chiropractic profession and attendance record of 100 Parker seminars.

"From the moment I experienced Dr. Singer at a Parker Seminar, I was inspired to live chiropractic with passion and conviction," says Fabrizio Mancini, DC, president of Parker College. "He has been an inspiration to me and many others."

Terry A. Rondberg, DC, president of the World Chiropractic Alliance and publisher of The Chiropractic Journal added his praise: "I've worked with Dr. Singer for more than two decades and have come to know him not only as a dedicated advocate of chiropractic, but as a warm and truly decent man. He is constantly, continuously helping doctors achieve their goals and, in doing so, has made incredible strides in advancing our profession."

Singer's own personality is so powerful that many doctors assume it alone is the reason for his success. But Singer is quick to point out that the techniques he teaches are not personality‑based. Instead, any doctors ‑‑ no matter how gregarious or shy ‑‑ can use them and apply them in practice.

Among his clients are chiropractors who have built chains of 50 or more offices, generated annual revenues of $2 million, and more than doubled their new patient visits in less than six months.

"As he celebrates his 25th year as a consultant, I'm sure all his clients and the profession as a whole wish him a Happy Anniversary," Dr. Rondberg added. "I look forward to celebrating his 50th as well!"
