Mission planned to Dominican Republic

A chiropractic mission to the Dominican Republic will not only help poverty‑stricken residents there receive much needed health care, but will give 15 DCs an opportunity to enrich their own lives through the power of giving.

The goal of "Chiromission," organizers explain, is both to "Give and Receive." The trip, to take place Sept. 28‑30, is particularly geared to chiropractors who might be hesitant or fearful of traveling in a remote developing nation. The program includes self‑improvement presentations and is based in a four‑star resort to ease the transition.

Doctors will arrive in the Dominican Republic on Sept. 28 and be transported to the Casa Marina, an ocean‑side hotel that offers a full line of amenities such as pools, Jacuzzis, and a casino. On the 29th, they will participate in a "Face your fears and fellowship" exercise, hiking into the jungle and facing the "Waterfall Challenge." After they return to the hotel they will have the opportunity to attend a practice‑building class, "Give and Receive," led by Peter Morgan, DC, and Todd Herold, DC.

On Saturday, the group will embark on the most important leg of the journey, entering the poorest sections of the island nation to provide free chiropractic care at a health care center and orphanage. It is expected that the team will give adjustments to more than 2,000 people on that single day.
