Children's health book revised
Ogi Ressell, DC, noted
pediatric author and head of The Practice Evolution Program, announced the
release of a new edition of his book, "Kids‑First: Health with No
Interference ‑‑ How to raise a Healthy Child Outside the Medical Model"
First published in
2001, the book has been reprinted several times and has become popular with
parents looking for alternatives to drugs and surgery for their children.
"It talks to parents about their children at a level they absolutely
understand and get," Dr. Ressell explained.
The new edition
includes an additional 150 pages, new chapters, and new information about
maintaining the health of children and their families. "You'll find new info
on the looming sucralose problem, the problem of cell phones and children's
brain development, birth trauma, ADHD, colitis, asthma, the politics of
health, vaccination, and many other topics that are all important to parents
everywhere," Ressell noted.
The book was one way
for Ressell to disseminate information about vaccination without violating
the Ontario rules concerning chiropractors discussing the issue with
patients. In 2004, the Ontario professional regulatory board ‑‑ the College
of Chiropractors of Ontario ‑‑ enacted a rule stating that "Chiropractors
may not, in their professional capacity, treat or advise patients/others
with respect to immunization/vaccination as it is outside their scope of
practice."
"As an author, I have
literary license to talk about this issue in spite of their gag order,"
Ressell states. "And trust me, I do! I even included an appeal from the
pubic. They are welcome to write to the President of the Ontario board and
let him know how they feel about this insane regulation. There is nothing
like public pressure!"
The book is available
through amazon.com, at Ressell's website (www.practiceevolution.com), from
the publisher, Safe Goods Publishing (413‑229‑7935) or by special order from
most bookstores.
