 | Chiropractic mission trip by Dr. Peter
H. Morgan -- On September 28,
2006, I arrived, with six other chiropractors, in Puerta Plata, Dominican
Republic. We were on a mission. It was a chiropractic, not a religious,
mission. We were not sponsored by any church and were of many different
faiths. We did, however, share a common purpose: to promote chiropractic
and adjust all those who are subluxated throughout the world, especially
in developing countries where resources are terribly limited. |
 | WCA rebukes BBC for biased report
-- The World Chiropractic Alliance
(WCA) contacted the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) after learning
of its planned investigative report on chiropractors accused of fraud for
correcting subluxations. The doctors are among a small but growing number
of DCs in the United Kingdom who no longer call themselves "chiropractors"
because of the way the term is being used in that country. Instead, they
identify themselves as Spinal Specialists who focus on the detection and
correction of vertebral subluxations and do not offer medical services to
patients. |
 | Axiom defends DRX9000 --
Axiom Worldwide, USA, has revised its
advertising and marketing campaign in response to various issues raised in
the spinal decompression industry. It has been reported that several state
chiropractic boards have been investigating what they say are unfounded
advertising claims made by doctors using the company's DRX9000 device. |
 | Connecticut law would require stroke
warnings -- Connecticut
legislators will consider a bill mandating that doctors of chiropractic
warn patients about the potential risk of strokes from chiropractic care,
despite persuasive scientific evidence that such risk is so minimal as to
be insignificant. |
 | JVSR research gets media attention
-- The media had more than its
normal share of news on chiropractic research in the last few months,
thanks in great part to a number of papers published in the Journal of
Vertebral Subluxation Research (JVSR). |
 | Research on blood pressure published in
medical journal -- A
research report by Marshall Dickholtz, Sr., DC, is set to be published in
the March issue of the printed Journal of Human Hypertension, a
part of the Nature Publishing Group family of journals. An online version
appeared on the JHH website in January. |
