Northwestern inaugurates Zeigler as new president

Northwestern Health Sciences University inaugurated Mark T. Zeigler, DC, as its new president during its 2007 Northwestern College of Chiropractic Homecoming and Winter Gathering Feb. 1‑3.

Prior to attending Northwestern in 1977, Dr. Zeigler attended the University of South Dakota at Vermillion and Iowa State University. After graduating from Northwestern in 1980, he established a private practice in Sturgis, S.D. In addition to his practice, Zeigler was active in Sturgis politics. From 1982 to 1996, he served as a city council member; in 2001 he was elected mayor. He resigned from that position to serve as Northwestern's president.

Zeigler is the fifth president in the history of Northwestern. Preceding him in the president's office were: John B. Wolfe, DC, 1941‑1984; Donald Cassata, PhD, 1984‑1991; John F. Allenburg, DC, 1992‑2001; and Alfred Traina, DC, 2001‑2006.
