TV ad raises awareness of chiropractic research
RCS (Research &
Clinical Science) has received IRB approval for a television spot to recruit
study volunteers for a global research project on the impact of vertebral
subluxations. The 30‑second TV ad has been broadcast over local cable
stations in California by John Madeira, DC, an RCS Authorized Clinical
Investigator.
Although the primary
purpose of the ad is to recruit volunteers into the research study, it also
helps to educate the public about the role of chiropractic in addressing
stress‑related health issues and position the profession as a scientific,
evidence‑based discipline. (Note: the commercial may be viewed at

Other RCS doctors have
expressed interest in broadcasting similar commercials in their locales and
RCS officials say the ads may begin appearing nationwide within several
months.
To produce the
professional‑quality spots, RCS partnered with Destiny Health Trends
Network, which creates and customizes the ad, and assists doctors in
scheduling it for broadcast on various networks.
Destiny was chosen
based on its experience working with hundreds of doctors across the country
in the creation of popular 30‑minute chiropractic infomercials such as
"Light the Fire Within." It also converted the commercials and videos for
use on doctors' websites.

"This is an incredibly
powerful tool to project the right image of chiropractic to huge audiences,"
stated Terry A. Rondberg, DC, CEO
of the private‑sector research company. "It is also allowing chiropractic
research to recruit volunteers using the same methods as medical
researchers, increasing our credibility with the public."
As part of the
arrangement with RCS, Destiny creates the ads for $995, with no monthly
licensing fee. To introduce their services to RCS doctors, Destiny has also
"sweetened the deal," by offering the exclusive Triple Crown Assortment of
Rebecca‑Ruth Candies, which includes the famed "bourbon balls" that made
Southern Living magazine's 2004 best food products list.
