'Love Has No Color' campaign winning widespread acclaim

From its recent coverage in The Chiropractic Journal alone, many chiropractors have already heard about the "Love Has No Color World Project," an effort created and sponsored by The New Renaissance and the chiropractors of the Mentor IV Coaching Program. The vision of Dr. Kevin Pallis and Dr. Ed Plentz, New Renaissance co‑owners and head coaches of Mentor IV, the project seeks to raise awareness about the predicament of the original inhabitants of our nation.

In the midst of world growth and advancement and with the increasing focus on globalization, many people don't realize that Native Americans are living lives of poverty and unemployment, violence, addiction and disease right here on our soil. Adults are rapidly losing hope and children are crying out for a chance at a healthier, happier and safer existence. By restoring health and hope through chiropractic care and community service, "Love Has No Color" is The New Renaissance answer to the situation on our reservations.

As a result of much hard work and love from the Mentor IV family, over the past year the "Love Has No Color" vision has become a reality and developed into a full‑fledged endeavor on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Montana.

Currently, Ms. Brandi Charette of Fort Peck is enrolled in the College of Chiropractic at Life University in Marietta, Georgia on a presidential scholarship provided by the university and "Love Has No Color" funds. Plans are also already in the works for the construction of the chiropractic clinic and community center she will practice in back on the reservation after graduation.

In addition, the project has gone far beyond introducing chiropractic to Fort Peck to include a number of community service efforts, such as a movie theater restoration project and the "Christmas on the Reservation Holiday Gift Drive" in which Mentor IV offices collected and personally delivered an overwhelming total of over 8,000 gifts for the children on the reservation.

Since its launch in April 2006, "Love Has No Color" has caused a buzz in the profession due to its uniqueness and commitment. Recently, The New Renaissance has been receiving a great deal of correspondence from chiropractors outside the Mentor IV family inquiring about how they can get involved beyond making a monetary donation.

Excited by the response, The New Renaissance is offering any interested NON‑Mentor IV DCs and/or chiropractic staff the opportunity to join them in Fort Peck and help change the world through their actual presence and participation on the reservation.

From May 31‑June 2, 2007, The New Renaissance will host its "Love Has No Color" Boot Camp on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation and, for the first time, open the event to chiropractors and/or staff who are not in the Mentor IV Coaching Program. The three‑day affair will allow participants to experience "Love Has No Color" in action and contribute firsthand to the rebuilding and rebirth of a nation of forgotten people.

The Boot Camp 2007 schedule includes an exclusive cultural event with Fort Peck tribal elders and the continuation of the refurbishment of a fully‑functioning movie theater in the community of Wolf Point, MT as well as hands‑on instruction in chiropractic procedures and philosophies from Dr. Pallis and Dr. Plentz.

Commenting on the most recent "Love Has No Color" installment, Plentz said: "With the success of last year's Boot Camp, which also took place on the reservation, and the tremendous growth of 'Love Has No Color' since then, this year's event promises to be nothing short of spectacular. The people of Fort Peck have experienced what a group of passionate chiropractors are capable of and are finally seeing actual results. As our liaison, Kenneth Smoker Jr., Wellness Director for Fort Peck, rejoiced to us, the sense of hope on the reservation is now higher than he has ever seen or imagined. We want the people of Fort Peck and the world to know that we are not even close to being finished and we want others in our profession to embrace our vision and join us in being a part of it all."

This is a wonderful opportunity for doctors to show the world how the chiropractic profession embodies life, passion, love and humanitarianism. The New Renaissance invites DCs to honor their chiropractic gift by being a part of something that will revive our Native American communities and truly change the world and its perception of the chiropractic profession.

Chiropractors interested in attending Boot Camp 2007 who would like more information about costs, accommodations and other details, are asked to contact Penny at The New Renaissance headquarters at 1‑800‑525‑3879 or thenewrenaissance@comcast.net.
