The mind missle

by Dr. Kevin Pallis and Dr. Ed Plentz

Over the years, we've endeavored to make the journey towards success the most direct we possibly could. This has led us to share with you many different technologies for achieving your goals in record time. Looking to constantly improve has led us to yet another technology that you can add to your arsenal of success strategies.

Let's look at the mind like a missile.

As long as you properly program the target into the missile's guidance system it will hit its target 99.9% of the time. Yet, if you were to program the location of the target into the guidance system just one degree off, the missile would miss its mark every time.

This is a weakness we see when it comes to fulfilling our dreams. If we don't define our target, the mind doesn't have a flight plan to follow and will be affected by every obstacle it comes up against. So, predictably we miss our target and then wonder why we're not where we think we should be in the game of life. This is just like putting the wrong coordinate in the missile's guidance system and then wondering why the target wasn't hit.

The solution's obvious. You need to define your target, your ending point in life ‑‑ where you want to be when it's all said and done. When you have this distinct, detailed picture of your life's target, then your mind, just like the missile's guidance system, will keep you on track no matter what obstacles life may throw at you.

So, what's your target? Do you even have one? If you don't, now is the time to define your target and start on your journey to ultimate success.

At this point many of our clients will ask us the best way to go about this. In our book titled, "Finding That Something In You," we introduced the concept of proper goal setting and changing the mind from goal‑ to vision‑based thinking. Let's take the time to go through this so you can be sure to program the target into your guidance system properly.

We want you to set your target out 10 years. Where do you want to be a decade from now? When you're programming your mind in this detail you'll need to be careful because your mind will take you very literally. If you say "10 years from now," your mind, even if you could have accomplished this goal sooner, will not achieve it until the 10 year mark. So, you have to be very careful not to limit yourself even when striving for success.

In our book we introduced the concept of open‑ended statements that transcend time limitations. These are statements that will guide your subconscious mind, but won't limit your mind. They will allow you to accomplish your goals earlier, if possible, or accomplish something better.

For example, if you want to set a goal for 10 years from now, you may choose to word it in this way: "In 10 years from now, or sometime sooner, I will be financially stable and have the life of my dreams." The statement of "now or sometime sooner," will allow the subconscious mind to achieve the goal earlier if possible.

Let's say you're setting a specific monetary goal. You may want to word it something like this: "In 10 years, or sometime sooner, I will have $500,000 cash, or something better, on hand at all times." You see, with statements like this there are no limitations at all.

Wording your goals in this format is important because you'll be setting these goals based on your present belief system, experience and confidence level in yourself and your business. As your belief changes, so will your goals. The problem is your subconscious will realize this before you do consciously. So, by having these open‑ended statements there will be no mental limitations to your growth as your target changes because your beliefs in your capabilities have changed. All you will need to do is define your new target, program it into your guidance system, and then sit back and let your mind do the rest.

Don't be surprised if your subconscious not only achieves what you asked of it, but something even better!
