News & Features

bulletEvolution of instrumentation -- Since the earliest days of chiropractic, chiropractors realized the importance of obtaining objective measurements of various neurological and physiological changes.
bulletCCP releases 3rd edition of Guidelines -- The Council on Chiropractic Practice (CCP) has released the third edition of its "Clinical Practice Guideline, Vertebral Subluxation in Chiropractic Practice," after two years of intense effort by a large group of chiropractors, researchers and other experts from around the world.
bulletDC runs marathon for Oklahaven -- Vincent Malba, DC, realized his life-long dream by running the prestigious New York Marathon on November 2, 2008. He'd been in training since February to get ready for the 26.2 mile run through all five boroughs of New York City.
bulletABCA picks new president -- During its 27th national convention in August, the American Black Chiropractic Association (ABCA) elected board member Rodney Williams, DC, as Executive President. Dr. Williams is a 2000 graduate of Logan College and has served as treasurer under the last three presidents.
bulletThe energy of autism by Barbara Stahura -- We perceive the universe through our limited human senses, so it's understandable if we forget it's all nothing but energy. Far beneath what we see, hear, taste, smell, and touch lies the Zero Point Field, where nothing exists but the foundational energy of everything.
bulletTo be or not to be an 'associate' -- that's the question by Dr. Timothy J. Gay -- When I graduated from chiropractic college, I felt we were all on the path to changing the world. My chiropractic brothers and sisters all had very different slants on how they were going to practice. Some were going into practice with family members who wanted them to work in the family practice.

Columns

bulletWhat is sacred can never be forgotten by Dr. Kevin Pallis and Dr. Ed Plentz -- When did you last give thanks to the person who helped you get into the wonderful and exciting world of chiropractic? Maybe it was a DC in the field who uttered those immortal words "why don't you think about being a chiropractor?"
bulletWhy am I promoting Zrii? by Dr. Terry A. Rondberg -- Throughout my career as a chiropractor and chiropractic activist, I've taken many bold, controversial actions. I've stood up for what I believed was best for chiropractic and the patients we serve. I've almost always angered my enemies (as if I care) and occasionally caused even my friends to shake their heads in disapproval or puzzlement.
bulletHonor by Dr. Ogi Ressel -- So, you want to see more kids. However, there's a certain quality all parents are looking for in a doctor before they allow him or her to see their children. Honor. Now, there's a concept!
bulletSucceeding in the face of adversity by Dr. CJ Mertz -- More than half of the adversity we experience is brought upon ourselves. The rest can be effectively managed, but usually not prevented. Succeeding in the face of adversity is what separates those who keep winning from everyone else.
bulletThe physics of failure by Dr. Mark Payne -- In my last column, I revealed chiropractic's "dirty little secret." There's no hiding from it now...the word is out. We are a profession built upon the premise that structural misalignment results in bodily dysfunction. The only problem is traditional chiropractic adjustments don't do very much to change spinal structure. Sorry to be the one to break the news but it's a fact.
bulletThe Stress Response by DeDe Van Riper -- Chiropractic's future is being decided at this very moment. It's often difficult to see you're at a crossroads when you're standing in the middle. But take my word for it, chiropractic's there. Years from now we'll all look back and realize that this period in our profession was a defining moment. The question now is, which way will we go? While the options are pretty clear, the answer may not be.
