Be in awe!
by Dr. Ogi Ressel
Okay, all you
wonderful, amazing, and fantabulous doctors! Yes, you!
I know what you're
thinking, "He can't be talking about me." Well, I am!
And here's part of the
problem. Just as you don't understand that I'm talking to you, (and
I've said this before) we often do not recognize how truly amazing
chiropractic is. We give it lip service because that is what we are
supposed to do. We go to seminars, conventions, and meetings, schmoozing and
schlepping around with fellow DCs and we talk ‑‑ big. We talk
large. Even LARGER than that! And we compare notes and astonishing
stories that often seem incredulous. So much so, in fact, that deep down, we
find them difficult to believe. Why? Because they always seem to happen to
someone else ‑‑ rarely to us.
Here's the truth of the
matter: CHIROPRACTIC WORKS!
Let me present you with
a story. If you feel moved at the end of it, there is still hope that
chiropractic will survive and that you will not allow it to end on some
surgical table.
It's 11:45 p.m., and
here you are in bed, trying desperately to fall asleep. Your spouse is next
to you in sweet slumber and you are just sending off the last of the sheep.
The phone rings and jars you from your well‑deserved rest. It's Mary, your
patient, and she is hysterical. You can feel her tears across the phone
line.
"Doctor," she says, "my
8‑year‑old daughter is having an asthma attack ‑‑ she's not breathing very
well and I don't know what to do!" You jump out of bed and tell Mary to meet
you at your office right away. You slip into your jeans, t‑shirt and bunny
slippers and rip down to the office, check the little girl, adjust her, and
ask Mary to call you at 3 a.m. to let you know how her daughter is doing.
Now, you're back in bed
and can't sleep because you're thinking of Mary's daughter. At 2:45 a.m.,
fatigue finally wins and just as you slide off into sleep, Mary phones again
‑‑ and again you can feel her tears on your face.
"Doctor, I don't know
what you've done, but my little girl is sleeping soundly, the attack is gone
and I don't know how to thank you. You are a God‑send!" You're thrilled! You
ask Mary to bring her little girl to your office at 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. so you
can check her again.
Once more you try to
sleep. And you know it's just not happening because you are so
excited! You look down at your hands, at those amazing instruments
of healing, and think that if you were to suddenly touch them together,
you'd probably electrocute yourself!
So, you get up and read
a bit, do a short workout, have breakfast and buzz to your office early.
Mary comes in at eight o'clock with her daughter who brings you a flower and
a drawing of you, and plants a kiss on your cheek in thanks. You see her
again at six, you see your other 150 patients that day, and call your spouse
and tell her not to make dinner because you're taking her out for dinner and
a movie. You've had a fantastic day and you've been up for 48 hours and you
are not the least bit tired!
Does that move you?
That is the type of practice I wish for all of you!
Here is what I find.
While you are hungry and searching for that amazing, stupendous, "fantabulistic"
tid‑bit of proof that what you are doing actually works, the very thing
you're searching for is happening under your very nose. Actually, under your
hands would be more accurate. While you are yearning for that
incredible story to share and boast about with your colleagues at the next
convention, the very thing you're trying to see is happening right in front
of you!
I need you to "get"
this: When you adjust that subluxation, you release the power of Innate, you
release incredible healing potential.
You set into motion the
fantastic power that transforms food into energy ...causes old cells to die
and be replaced with new ones ... makes new tissues ...creates new matter
...fires new information over new nerve relays ...obliterates cancer cells,
viruses and bacteria ...AND that begins life! And all while you are
searching for proof and that amazing story.
Please take a moment to
look at your hands. Look at those amazing instruments of healing and be in
awe! For under those appendages, a truly remarkable transformation is taking
place ‑‑ healing.
