SCU to offer Goodheart scholarship
The International
College of Applied Kinesiology ‑‑ USA (ICAK‑USA) has announced a George J.
Goodheart Scholarship in AK will be offered at Southern California
University of Health Sciences (SCU) this month. The $1500 scholarship will
again be sponsored by Metagenics, the
leading developer of natural, science based nutriceuticals. This will be the
second annual Goodheart Scholarship offered at SCU, and part of a
scholarship program that was established in 2005.
Applicants of the
Metagenics sponsored scholarship must be a SCU 6th trimester student or
above, maintain a grade point average of 2.75 or better, and be a current
member of the SCU AK Club.
In addition to
endorsements of the AK Club, ICAK Teaching Diplomate, AK chiropractic
college instructor and/or AK club faculty advisor, students will be required
to submit an essay of no less than 500 words describing applicable work
experience, academic strengths, career objectives, reasons for applying, and
experience with AK including future plans for research.
Applications are due
Friday, February 1, and will be reviewed by the ICAK‑U.S.A. Scholarship
Committee. The winner of the $1500 scholarship will be announced at an
awards ceremony in the following months. Applications may be obtained by

Foot Levelers donates to Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College
Foot Levelers continues
to extend its commitment to the profession by donating nearly $16,000 to
Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). The funds were donated to the
CMCC's Capital Campaign, HANDS ON THE FUTURE(r), as part of Foot Levelers'
$100,000 pledge to CMCC. Foot Levelers' contribution assists CMCC in their
pursuit of excellence in education, research and patient care.

support the excellent work of Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College," said
Foot Levelers President and CEO Kent
Greenawalt. "Their commitment to chiropractic education and research is
unsurpassed."
CMCC will use the
donated funds to pay for their new facility in Toronto,
Ontario. This facility provides more
space for teaching, completing research valuable to providing the best
health care, and a professional atmosphere for CMCC's on-site clinic.
In our tradition of
continuing support to the chiropractic profession, Foot Levelers has donated
millions of dollars to chiropractic colleges and causes over the years. With
generous donors such as Foot Levelers, CMCC will be able to pay down the
debt on the facility ahead of schedule, therefore eliminating some of the
overhead associated with the new building.

Life West names new executive VP
Life Chiropractic
College West has announced the appointment of Reza Badiee, the college's CFO
for the past 17 years, to the newly created position of executive vice
president. The appointment was announced to the campus community on January
31 by Life West President Dr. Gerard Clum.
In his new role, Badiee
will continue to manage the college's financial affairs and will take on the
additional responsibility of overseeing most of the college's non‑academic
administrative functions.
In making the
announcement, Dr. Clum said, "We are pleased to bring Mr. Badiee's
considerable talents to more of the college community through this
appointment. Reza's familiarity with the college at large, chiropractic
education in general and his management insights cause him to be ideally
suited for this new administrative assignment."
In addition to his
college duties, Badiee is active with (and served a term as chair of) the
Business Officers' Council of the Association of Chiropractic Colleges. He
is a member of the Council on Chiropractic Education's Site
Team Visit Academy and currently
serves on the CCE Task Force on the
Revision of Standards. Badiee holds both an MBA and an MA in accounting
degrees from Armstrong College.
A member of Life West's
President's Circle giving club, Badiee has served his community as with
terms as president of the Moraga (Calif.)
Education Foundation and chairman of the Lincoln Child Center in Oakland,
Calif. He is currently a member of
the Moraga
Park and Recreation Foundation board of
directors.
