Dr. Plasker guests on TV show

Eric Plasker, DC, president of The Family Practice and author of "The 100 Year Lifestyle," appeared on a special Longevity Tips show for top cable network TBS.

On the show, part of the popular "Movie and A Makeover" series, Dr. Plasker helped audience members plan for the long haul by showing the best ways to stay fit for a lifetime. He discussed longevity, living a successful 100-year-lifestyle, staying in shape, creating the best life possible in one's golden years and the importance of having a healthy, well-adjusted spine.

Show host Mia Butler, a chiropractic advocate, says she was truly inspired by "The 100 Year Lifestyle" message, a reaction seen in thousands of readers around the world.

After the broadcast of the show, the network's Internet site included information on Plasker and his book, as well as the interactive 100-year lifestyle assessment test. "Eric Plasker, DC, is a man on a mission. That mission: To help every man and woman in America live to realize 'a long life, well-lived.' Fit and energetic, Dr. Plasker is a prime example of his book, 'The 100 Year Lifestyle' in action," the website notes.

The popularity of the book has created a windfall for chiropractors since it combines patient education and life coaching strategies used by The Family Practice clients to generate some $25 million in 2007.

The book, published March 2007, is being translated into Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Taiwanese, with additional foreign rights in process around the world.

Many doctors are using the book in their practices, and have become sought-after experts by their local media. In a world where people are living longer than ever, "The 100 Year Lifestyle" creates a new health care model that includes chiropractors as leaders and makes a healthy spine a priority.

At The Family Practice Reunion Seminar, set for May 2-3, 2008 in Atlanta, chiropractors who share a family focus will gather to strategize on how they can increase their practices by using this message to see more families for lifetime care, and lead family health care in the world.

Speakers include Plasker, Cheryl Langley, DC, and members of The Family Practice Coaching team, as well as special guest speakers Patrick Gentempo, DC, Fabrizio Mancini, DC, and numerous other successful chiropractors.

A featured speaker at the seminar will be Jacob Plasker, Dr. Plasker's son, who will talk about growing up in a chiropractic home. Paralyzed from an injury at only 10 months of age, Jacob will speak about how he dealt with the situation, overcame his injury and how chiropractic philosophy and principles helped give him the strength to do it.

Jacob's story was featured in "The 100 Year Lifestyle" and "Chicken Soup for the Chiropractic Soul." He graduates from high school this year and will attend college in the fall.
