American Radiological Services celebrates 20th anniversary

This month, American Radiological Services (ARS) celebrates its 20 anniversary of providing quality radiological interpretations to the chiropractic community.

ARS, located in Toledo, Ohio, began serving the chiropractic community in May 1988 and has provided well over 1,200,000 formal interpretations since that time.

All films sent to ARS are read by one of our chiropractic radiologists, each of whom has completed a three-year residency dedicated exclusively to radiology. Following successful completion of rigorous examination by the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology, each was granted the designation of Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology (DACBR). In addition to classroom study, our radiologists also participated in training on a clinical level, as well as teaching of chiropractic students.

Craig Church, DC, has been a DACBR since January 1989 and was an Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology at Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas from Jan. 1989 until Sept. 1993, at which time he joined ARS on a full-time basis and has interpreted X-rays on over 330,000 patients.

After acting as a fill-in radiologist for many years, Jan Martensen, DC, joined ARS on a full-time basis in July 2006. Dr. Martensen has been a DACBR since 1990 and has specialty certification in CT and MRI interpretation since 1993. In 2004, he earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Sciences with a concentration in Radiology.
