How to bullet-proof your practice in this economy

by Dr. Erich Breitenmoser

Warren Buffett, one of the smartest and most successful men of our day, was asked recently, "What's the best investment anyone can make in these tough economic times?" His answer was fast and simple: "The most important investment you can make is in yourself."

That could very well be the best advice Mr. Buffett has ever offered. If ever there was a time to take control of your future, it's now.

As a chiropractor, you have a huge opportunity to rise above it all. By choosing to pursue a marketing standpoint, you're taking your future out of the hands of others and placing it squarely in your own. It's time to get serious. It's time to step up your commitment from "I really want to do this" to "I really need to do this now."

You might be wondering whether with the economy in such dire straits there's still a need for good, honest chiropractors who care about their patients. Absolutely.

Yet, I'm not going to lie to you. In some segments of the profession, new patients and stats are down. But in others, they're well up. Self-improvement and health, for instance, are two sectors where people are buying as never before.

But here's the thing. Whether sales are up or down, the demand for good, solid marketing doctors will always be strong. Why? Because one reality never changes: marketing is KING. Sales letters, flyers, direct mail pieces, relationship building activities are the engines that drive any business. Without them, there is no rock-solid recession-proof practice.

The doctors I consult with and for aren't cutting back on their marketing efforts. Quite the contrary. My members are planning to double their marketing output in 2009! Why? Because it's good business. When response is down, the smart thing to do is to test as many new and innovative things as you possibly can.

That's the great thing about our profession. Whether the economy is struggling or flying high, the demand for good doctors will always be there. So, despite the current state of the economy and the job losses happening all around us, you can still enjoy the dream lifestyle you deserve.

More important, you can take control of your personal and financial future at a time when it's never been more crucial to do so -- and never have to wake up in the morning wondering whether your practice will be there for you in a few months, due to job losses, plant closings, etc.

Which is why there's never been a better time to step up your marketing commitment -- and for Practice Wealth to provide you with exactly what you need to take your professional career to the highest level.
