Ted Shrader, DC, founder of the Chiropractic Forum, turns 90

On Jan. 23, nearly 100
friends, family, patients, and doctors of chiropractic gathered to celebrate
the 90th birthday of Ted Shrader, DC.
Dr. Shrader graduated
from the Ratledge Chiropractic College in 1940 and practiced chiropractic
for more than half a century.
Perhaps best known in
the chiropractic profession for his leadership and contributions to the
development of the American Chiropractic Association Council on Technic, he
has served the chiropractic profession for many years in private practice
and in various officer positions. He began the Chiropractic Forum in 1949
and served as president of the California Chiropractic Association from
1967-1968.
At the celebration, the
room was filled with photos taken during his years of service in the Navy,
family outings, and his many years in chiropractic practice. The outpouring
of well wishes was uplifting and heartwarming. Common themes from attendees'
comments included that Shrader encourages those he meets to reach their
potential, encourages critical thinking, and is warm and supporting to
everyone he meets.
