Online discount book site launched

An Internet site dedicated to chiropractic books has been launched at www.ChiropracticBooksEtc.com . The site, a service of BARD Enterprises, includes information and reviews books especially selected for doctors of chiropractic. Books are categorized by type, with an emphasis on technical and practice management titles.

A special effort has also been made to identify and list unusual books that might not be familiar to many DC readers, including a book of chiropractic humor, and a mystery series featuring a chiropractor as a lead character. Other categories include patient education books, study guides and titles of special interest to students, as well as books concerning the risks and problems relating to medical treatment.

Chiropractic Books Etc. also features information on newly released and soon-to-be-released books of interest to chiropractors and offers an electronic update of the site via e-mail.

Links are provided to online book vendors, many of them offering discounts of 20-40% or more for new books or that sell used volumes for as little as $1 or less. Among the "hottest" titles last month were: "Chiropractic Marketing Tools That Will Absolutely Grow Your Practice," by John Reizer, DC; "Upper Cervical Subluxation Complex: A Review of the Chiropractic and Medical Literature," by Kirk Eriksen; "Illustrated Orthopedic Physical Assessment," by Ronald C. Evans; and the perennial favorite, "The Chiropractor," by DD Palmer.

"Because they're published for a relatively small market, chiropractic books can be extremely pricey," stated Barbara J. Bigham, co-owner of BARD Enterprises. "We felt it important to give doctors reliable information about these books and also provide them with an easy way to save a great deal of money on them."

In addition to books, Chiropractic Books Etc., features a hand-picked selection of non-book items of interest to chiropractors.

"These aren't products you'll see in chiropractic publications or on usual chiropractic websites," Bigham explained. "We searched through hundreds of items to find unique and unusual merchandise that we hope doctors will like for their offices, their patients or themselves." The items range from healthy Mellow Monk green tea to whimsical golf club covers.
