Chiropractic autism group to hold conference
The American
Chiropractic Autism Board (ACAB) will host its second international
conference on Nov. 13-15, in Charleston, SC.
"Hope for Autism" (HFA)
training will begin with chiropractic neurologist Laura Hanson, DC, of Life
University discussing the diagnosis and treatment of unilateral brain
dysfunction and multi-sensory disintegration in children on the autism
spectrum, including ADD and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
Doctors will receive
hands-on, practical tools to help them drive development in the areas of the
brain most commonly affected. Other techniques include desensitizing the
commonly hypersensitive nervous system to help prepare children on the
autism spectrum for chiropractic adjustments.
Among the topics
covered at the conference will be utilizing diagnostic tools and specialized
laboratory testing to properly evaluate for the underlying cause of disease;
nutritional and dietary interventions specific to autism; addressing heavy
metal and other forms of toxicity; overcoming common obstacles in autism
recovery, and the scientific rationale behind BioNutritional Care.
Doctors who complete
the training conference and pass the proficiency exam will be added to the
HFA online referral directory. This course is sponsored by the International
Chiropractic Pediatric Association and Cleveland Chiropractic College and
provides 20 hours of CCE credits.
